Funding / TF Amount

± 4 min read 6 sections 4 images

Every needs SOL before it can buy. Where, when, and how much SOL came in can reveal whether many are actually one person.

Section 1 / 6

What is Funding / TF Amount?

This column is on the far right of GMGN's Holders tab. For each holder, it shows:

  • (source): who first sent SOL to that wallet. If GMGN knows the source, a name shows up (for example Binance, Bitget). If not, a short address shows up (for example GU9A..7D4q). A short address isn't necessarily a personal wallet, it just means GMGN hasn't labeled it.
  • Time: how long ago the SOL was sent (for example 120d = 120 days ago, 29d = 29 days ago).
  • TF Amount: how much was sent at that time.

Example (numbers are only examples): Bitget · 120d · 479.4K = this wallet was first funded from Bitget 120 days ago. GU9A..7D4q · 29d = funded from another wallet 29 days ago.

How to check holders (Holders tab)

  1. Open the token on GMGN and click the Holders tab.
  2. Look at the Funding / TF Amount column on the far right (red box).

  3. Read from the biggest holder down (top holders first). Watch for: same source or different? Close in time? Similar amounts?
  4. Clock icon () = several wallets were funded at the same time. It could be one person/team filling many wallets with a bot.
① 100 Time-linked Funding label, ② tooltip "100 holders funded in the same window": 100 holders were funded in the same time window. GMGN screenshot (Oct 2026). Token is only an example, not a recommendation.

  5. Red marker = several wallets were funded from the same source. Also possibly one owner.
Funding marked red: ① two holders both funded from 9SB8…5HsW, ② F7p3…gmNe is also red, another funding source used by several wallets. GMGN screenshot (Oct 2026). Token is only an example, not a recommendation.

  6. Add up the percentage held by the wallets in that "group". Small = still acceptable. Big = higher .
Section 3 / 6

Normal vs Suspicious

  • Normal: varied sources (Binance, Bitget, OKX, various wallets), different times with many of them old (tens/hundreds of days), random amounts. Lots of wallets funded from the same exchange is normal, because lots of people withdraw from the same exchange.
  • Suspicious: many top holders funded from one same wallet (not an exchange), at almost the same time (for example all a few minutes ago), with similar amounts. That's a strong sign of one person or a bundle.

Example (illustration, not real token data):

  • Normal: holder #1 Binance · 200d, holder #2 Bitget · 45d, holder #3 another wallet · 310d.
  • Suspicious: holders #2 to #8 all from the same wallet · 3m (3 minutes ago) · almost the same amounts.
Section 4 / 6

If you find something suspicious

  1. on the bubble map (lesson 2.9): are those wallets linked into one ?
  2. Add up their total percentage. If the share is big and you're not ready to get dumped on by them, skip.
  3. Small? You can continue, but assume they could sell together at any moment.
Section 5 / 6

How to check the dev

  1. On GMGN, open Info → Funding: the source address, the SOL amount, and how long ago.
DEV Info: red box on Funding Af8B…Sj2k · 10 SOL · 257d, the wallet that funded the dev's wallet 257 days ago. GMGN screenshot (Oct 2026). Token is only an example, not a recommendation.

  2. Click the source address: has it funded the dev of a token that rugged?

Red flags

  • Lots of top holders with a clock icon or red marker, and their total holdings are big.
  • The dev was funded from a wallet linked to tokens.
Summary

Summary

Summary
  • The Funding / TF Amount column in the Holders tab = where, when, and how much SOL first came into each wallet.
  • Normal: varied sources, different times, random amounts. Suspicious: one source (not an exchange), almost the same time, similar amounts.
  • Found a suspicious group? Add up their percentage, cross-check on the bubble map (lesson 2.9), and skip if the share is big. Suspicious funding = bigger dump risk, not that the token can't .
Section 6 / 6

Common mistakes

  • Being suspicious of every wallet funded from the same exchange, when that's normal.
  • Thinking a short address must be a personal wallet. It only means GMGN hasn't labeled it.
  • Forgetting to check the dev's Funding in DEV Info.

Suspicious funding is an alarm. Better to skip than to go in out of greed and carry a big risk.
