Blacklist

± 2 min read 5 sections 1 image

Some tokens can be bought but can't be sold (a ). One way this happens: your gets frozen.

Section 1 / 5

What is Blacklist?

authority is the right to freeze ' wallets. No Blacklist means the can't freeze your wallet. That's what we want.

Section 2 / 5

How to check

  1. On GMGN, look at No Blacklist on the token's metrics card. A green check = a sign of lower on this check.
Red box: No Blacklist green check (example token FTR), meaning this token has no feature to block holders' wallets. GMGN screenshot (Oct 2026). Token is only an example, not a recommendation.

  2. Check the Trades tab: are lots of wallets selling successfully?
Section 3 / 5

A case study?

To be honest: we haven't added a documented case study (with a ) for freezes/honeypots here yet. The risk is still real. If freeze authority is still active (No Blacklist is red), the dev can freeze the tokens in your wallet, so you're holding the coins but can't sell them. According to the GMGN docs, if your wallet gets hit, you'll see a warning that your wallet has been frozen.

Section 4 / 5

Green flags & Red flags

Green flags

  • No Blacklist is green, and lots of wallets can sell normally.

Red flags

  • Freeze is still active.
  • The chart stays green with no red , and only 1 or 2 wallets are selling.
Summary

Summary

Summary
  • No Blacklist = the dev can't freeze holders' wallets (freeze authority has been revoked).
  • Check No Blacklist on the GMGN metrics card, then look at the Trades tab: are lots of wallets selling successfully?
  • and No Blacklist both need to be green. Either one red = high risk, usually skip. Even both green only covers mint and freeze risk, it's no guarantee the price goes up.
Section 5 / 5

Common mistakes

  • Only looking at a chart that stays green, when only 1 or 2 wallets are selling.
  • Going in even though freeze is still active, thinking "as long as I can buy".

One small check can keep you away from coins you can't sell. Put low risk first, don't let take over.
